About Us

Hazard and Risk Management Ltd was formed in 2006 and is based in the North West of England.

It was founded by Ian Thorpe who is the company’s principal consultant. Ian has over 30 years experience working in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry. Thirteen of these years were spent working full time in EHS including six years as EHS manager responsible for all EHS and security issues on a large top tier COMAH (major hazard) chemical manufacturing site. As well chemical manufacturing this included tank farms, warehousing and distribution, engineering workshops, office blocks and large construction and demolition projects

Ian’s qualifications include:-

• MBA - Masters degree in business administration
• MSc – Masters degree (with distinction) in Occupational Health and Safety Management
• MIOSH – Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health
• C.Chem MRSC – Chartered Chemist and Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry

As a small company we can offer the benefits of a flexible and personal service but through our wide industrial experience we have access to a network of associates who we have worked with over a number of years and who can assist us with bigger jobs or where very specific specialist expertise is required as part of a job.
